Recourse vs. non-recourse
With recourse factoring, you're on the hook if the broker never pays. Non-recourse shifts that risk to the factor, usually for a higher fee. Read the contract before you sign either.
Factoring
Factoring turns an invoice you're owed into cash today instead of in 30, 60 or 90 days. We don't factor invoices ourselves — we're a dispatch service, not a finance company — but we prepare the paperwork that gets your invoice accepted the first time, and we can point you toward factoring companies carriers actually use.
The basics
You haul the load, the broker owes you money on their standard terms — often 30 days or more. A factoring company buys that invoice from you at a discount and pays you most of it right away. When the broker eventually pays, they pay the factor, not you.
With recourse factoring, you're on the hook if the broker never pays. Non-recourse shifts that risk to the factor, usually for a higher fee. Read the contract before you sign either.
Factors typically advance somewhere in the 90–97% range up front and hold the rest as a reserve, minus a factoring fee. Rates vary by factor, your freight mix and your history with them.
Once you factor with a company, brokers are told to pay the factor directly. Your dispatcher and your factor both need the paperwork to route correctly, every load.
Where we fit in
A factor kicks back an incomplete submission and your cash sits another day. Most of what slows an invoice down is paperwork, not the load itself — which is exactly the part we already handle for every carrier we dispatch.
Signed rate confirmation, BOL, PODs and accessorial backup, assembled and matched to the load before it ever reaches your factor's inbox.
We keep your factor's NOA on file and route rate confirmations so brokers are billed correctly from the first load, not the third.
Don't have a factor yet? We can point you to companies other carriers we work with use — you decide who to sign with, and on what terms.
Straight answer
Questions carriers ask
No. We never purchase, discount or advance funds against an invoice. We're a dispatch service, and factoring is a separate finance activity we don't hold ourselves out as providing.
We can introduce you to factoring companies other carriers we work with use. What company you sign with, and on what terms, is entirely your decision — read the contract, ask about recourse vs. non-recourse, and confirm the fee before you commit.
If we ever receive a referral fee from a factoring company for introducing you, we tell you before you sign with them. See our disclosures for how we handle compensation from third parties generally.
Not at all. Send us your factor's notice of assignment during onboarding and we'll route rate confirmations and invoice packets to them the same way we would for any other factor.
Usually, yes — that's the point of it — but the exact turnaround, advance rate and fee are set by the factoring company you choose, not by us. Ask them directly what to expect before you sign.
Whoever you factor with, we'll make sure they get a clean packet on every load — signed rate con, BOL, PODs and accessorial backup, without you having to assemble it yourself.
Fordine Solutions is a dispatch service, not a factoring company. We are not a lender and do not advance funds against your invoices.
